The Leicestershire Brass Band Association is one of the oldest band associations in the UK – dating back nearly 90 years, and bringing together bands from across the country, not just our own Leicestershire bands, but promoting music making, friendship and brass banding in the heart of England.
We are proud to have Ian Bartram as our President.
The organisation aims to work for and on behalf of its bands, putting together opportunities for performing music, promoting development in bands and their players – especially the youth and training elements, as well as providing opportunities for bands to meet up, share experiences, and through competition bring out the best musically and in individuals.
Chairman Steve Plant comments ‘We are a hardworking organisation that really tries to look after its bands, whether through promoting fundraising opportunities, developing competitions or promoting the movement for audiences across the county and beyond’.
We take this opportunity to thank our members and supporters for their ongoing support, and welcome any ideas for further suggestions, input or even financial support to keep the LBBA alive and thriving.
